Just got back from a meeting and finally had a chance to sneak a peak at Chris Vivlamore's blog write-up. In it was contained this priceless gem of information from the apparently outspoken Swede, Johnny Oduya, who had this to say when asked about the biggest difference between this year and the last:
I would say the coaching staff and everything surrounding the team I think has gotten more professional this year than last year. That’s something I think is key for the long run. You want to stay consistent. To do that, you have to do the same things over and over again and be disciplined in certain areas. Even with that said, you still want to have fun and be creative and use your skills. I would say the coaching staff has provided us that this year.
Oh snap son! That was either a straight-up cold 'dis' (in your face!) of previous coach John Anderson or a craftily veiled shot over the bow towards old coach and GM, Lou Lamairello of New Jersey. Perhaps Johnny O. is still a bit peeved he got jettisoned from a Cup-contending team like the Devils. Uhh, probably not. I'm just trying to stir the pot. These are very interesting comments from the smooth veteran who will wear the 'A' -- one of three handed out by Coach Ramsay -- in Friday nite's contest against Washington. Not only has Oduya been a sterling example for his compatriots on the ice, but apparently he has gotten their attention with his cool demeanor and PROFESSIONALISM.
Please excuse me while I breathe in and soak up the rich, creamy goodness of these comments.

Great post. And agreed.
I sense that we have management in place that can take a team to the top. Maybe not today, but "soon and for the rest of our lives..." [Lockheed Electra's engine kicks over, Ingrid tears up, Rick looks over at Paul Henreid...)
